Smile Holidays
aims to provide meaningful holidays for people with mild to moderate
learning disabilities, which promote choice, social inclusion and
independence and actively promote their rights and dignity by: |

We ensure only 8
or 9
clients are supported on each holiday and encourage holiday clients
to realise their potential and offer real life opportunities and to
participate in the community and in the holiday group with support
from two caring Smile carers. |

holidays are available on request |

Principal Carer/Registered
Manager |
|
John
Turnbull is the Principal Carer/Registered Manager of Smile Holidays
and leads all the holidays. He has over 30 years experience in the
care profession and has comprehensive training in all areas of care.
|

Holiday Coordinator/ Office Administrator |
|
Our
office holiday coordinator, Donna is a knowledgeable administrator
who oversees the day-to-day running of the office and coordinates
all the clients holidays throughout the year. |
|
Smile Holidays training
and development |
|
Comprehensive training is available for all Smile Holiday carers to
enable them to support and understand the various needs of the
client holiday group. This is accessed through East Sussex. |
|

Holiday venues
and excursions |
|
Smile Holidays
Principal Carer along with our Holiday Coordinator/Office
Administrator visit all holiday venues and excursions prior to
commencement of the clients holidays to ensure the appropriateness
and safety of these and to complete risk assessments where necessary |

Clients medical
consent form, accident incident forms, holiday risk assessments
forms and confidential complaint forms are available throughout the
clients’ holiday |

Holiday client information |
|
All information
kept or received by Smile Holiday on holiday clients is kept safe,
secure and confidential in accordance with the Data Protection Act |
|
Tailor Made Group
and 1-1 Holidays |
|
Clients who
require a tailor-made group or 1-1 holidays should contact Smile
Holidays Head Office to discuss individual and group requirements. A
visit by the Principal Carer to discuss and meet potential holiday
clients may be available. |
