individual bookings we are able to accommodate respite holiday group
home bookings of 6-8 clients, which can be tailored to your needs.

One to
One Respite Client Holidays & other Respite Tailor-Made holidays
Clients who require a 1-1 holiday or another type of tailor-made
holiday should contact Smile Holidays to discuss individual and
group requirements. A visit by the Principal Carer to discuss and
meet potential holiday clients may be available.
Meet potential new clients The Principal Carer is able to visit and meet potential new clients
(within a 60 mile radius of Brighton, East Sussex) and to discuss
our respite holidays and answer any questions clients, carers,
families may have.
Itinerary Details Once the client’s holiday has been confirmed by final invoice we will
send names of the care team who will be accompanying the client on
their holiday. We will also send details of the holiday venue, dates
and meeting point times to the client together with a Smile Holiday
luggage tag.
Smile Holiday Carers
All Smile Holiday carers are experienced, caring individuals with an
excellent knowledge and understanding of the unique needs of
individuals with learning disabilities, mental health and older
adults. Smile Holidays is registered with the Disclosure Barring
Service and all carers have achieved enhanced DBS registration.
Holiday Excursions and meals
Please note that on occasions our clients’ excursions may be altered
/changed to ensure all the holiday group are able to participate
fully on the day’s local excursion. All meals will be prepared and
cooked by our carers for the duration of your respite break.
Personal care
Throughout your chosen respite break you will
be supported, prompted with your daily shower/bath and encouraged to
change clothes daily.
Communication during the holiday
Smile Holidays Principal Carer will be contactable
by mobile phone if carers or family members wish to contact clients
whilst on holiday and he will be happy to take calls on behalf of a
client or to provide an update on how the holiday is progressing.
It would be preferrable if clients do not bring a mobile phone on
the holiday as this can be very distracting for other holiday
clients.
Client Medication
Please note we are able support/prompt clients to administer their
medication, drops or lotions throughout their respite holiday break.
Smile carers are also available for advice and guidance. Please
contact our Head Office for more details.
Accident/Missing Clients In the event of an accident occurring or a client being reported missing a
detailed on the spot Accident/Missing Persons form will be
completed. The appropriate authority and family members will be
contacted. A copy of the completed Accident/Missing persons form
will be forwarded to the client's/family home address and Smile
Holidays will retain a copy for our records.
