We currently have a four night break to the Isle of Wight staying in
coastal superior lodges
set in the north part of the Island. The lodge complex has a bar and
restaurant area. Once we have met at our designated meeting points
we will travel on our mini bus and we will sail across to the Isle
of Wight from Portsmouth Harbour. One of our excursions may include
Isle of Wight Steam Railway, a
beautiful, restored Victorian railway which passes through 5 miles
of unspoilt countryside. Sit back and enjoy the scenic views and
listen to the clatter of the train on the track!
Other places of interest may include: Visit
The Needles
to experience
spectacular views of the picturesque Needles Rocks and Lighthouse,
as well as the multi-coloured sand cliffs of Alum Bay. Stop at the
many gift shops and cafés.
Osborne House
is built in the style of an Italian villa and was the much loved
home of Queen Victoria and her family. The house has stunning Indian
décor rooms. The extensive grounds contain a summer house, a museum,
a fort and barracks as well as a Swiss Cottage overlooking the
Solent.
